Friends vs Girlfriend: Relationship

One of the most challenging aspects of being in a relationship is figuring out how to balance your friends and girlfriend. Hard to balance and if you can’t handle the situation for there might lot of consequences, right? If you ignore your girlfriend one too many times, you'll be single before you know it, but your friends won't remain friends with you for very long if you constantly flake out on them.

Eventually, learning how to balance your friends and girlfriend is about time management and respect. The people who care about you deserve your time… the key is sorting out how to divide that time fairly between the important people in your life.

Tips:

Plan time with each
Your friends have always just called you up when they're in the mood to go out. Meanwhile, your girlfriend has started assuming that you'll be spending every weekend together. The problem is that both parties assume that you can just drop everything and hang out with them. In an effort to balance your friends and girlfriend, a little planning goes a long way… scheduling will you help you make the most of your time.

Respect sacred occasions
As you try to balance your friends and girlfriend, it's essential to acknowledge that some events are sacred -- some things you absolutely cannot ditch out on. For example, you pretty well have to spend New Year's with your girlfriend, even if your buddies are planning a kick-ass road trip to New York City while all she wants to do is attend a party at her BFF's. Similarly, you can't -- under any circumstances --- let your girlfriend talk you into blowing off sacred guy time, like your fantasy football draft or your annual camping trip. Recognize that some things are sacred and you'll be more likely to balance your friends and girlfriend.

Turn her into a wing-woman
One way to balance your friends and your girlfriend is to plan outings with both parties. For example, try taking your girlfriend with you when you go out to the club with the guys. Turning her into a wingwoman can be a great opportunity for friend-girlfriend bonding. Your girlfriend can actually be an asset for your friends in the pickup game. Single girls will feel more comfortable talking to your male friends if there's a woman in your group. Also, the sight of your friends talking comfortably with your cute girlfriend is sure to trigger a single girl's competitive nature.

Your girlfriend will enjoy these outings too because women can't resist playing matchmaker. She'll also be happy to lend a hand to your boys because, generally, girlfriends want your male friends to find girlfriends. When your friends start pairing up with girls, they're less threatening to her as you can start doing things like double-dates (instead of having them steal you away to prowl for women). Turning her into a wingwoman is a win-win situation.

Love Online

Love chatting? How about registering on different dating sites just to meet someone? How you ever imagine yourself having boyfriend/girlfriend online? Will the relationship grows? Let us all read the story of Megan, 28 years old.

I am a 28 yr old divorced female. Although, I have been divorced for 6 years, my dating life has been a nightmare. I was meeting guys in all types of ways, and have had a lot of heartache. I have often wondered if I was ever going to find anyone again. My past relationships have been both verbally & physically abusive. I had just about given up, when I was stumbling through the personal ads online, and came across an ad from a guy that lived 10 minutes away from me. His photo & ad caught my eye, so I decided to give him a try. After exchanging a few emails, he called me and we met and went out. I have come to find out, our fathers' have known each other for over 10 years, and we have been crossing paths for sometime now. He is the sweetest, most romantic guy I have ever known, from opening my car door, to bringing me roses. We are now inseparable. For anyone out there who is thinking about giving up on meeting their special someone... good things come to those who wait!

Yes, it’s really true. Don’t lose hope. Just learn to wait. As the saying goes. “The more you wait for someone, the better the person.”

A Place in BabyG's Heart

Heartbroken, after my first love left me, I thought that I would never be able to love anyone the same way ever again. Everything reminded me of him. I didn't want anyone to replace him cause he meant so much to me. So, i kept myself from everyone that tried to get into my life. I lived with an emptiness for years. I thought that I wouldn't be able to feel the same way for anyone ever again but...
i met a guy... through one of my distant friends. At first I didn't want anything to have to do anything with him cause I knew I would get hurt all over again if I did. But after a while i decided to give it a try. He seemed sincere about me. I fell in love again. I was scared at first cause I didn't want to be left heartbroken again. Soon enough we were always together. I cherished every second we were together. One day... he got in an accident. I was left a lone again. It was too much for me to handle. I fell in love again. It wasn't like anything that I've experienced before. I knew where I stood with him. Then... he got locked up. I didn't see any point in going on. But I knew I had to. But there was just something about him that I couldn't let go of. Then it hit my like a rock. He took something from me that no one ever had. My heart. No matter how anyone tells me that I have to move on I can't. No matter how much I want to and how much I try. He took away my most valuable possession. My love. Now I sit here alone. Staying up at remembering everything that we ever had. That emptiness in my heart can never be filled. And no matter what he'll always have a place in my heart.

CAN YOU SLEEP WHILE THE WIND BLOWS

Years ago, a farmer owned land along the Atlantic seacoast. He constantly advertised for hired hands. Most people were reluctant to work on farms along the Atlantic. They dreaded the awful storms that raged across the Atlantic, wreaking havoc on the buildings and crops. As the farmer interviewed applicants for the job, he received A steady stream of refusals.

Finally, a short, thin man, well past middle age, approached the farmer. "Are you a good farm hand?" the farmer asked him. "Well, I can sleep when the wind blows," answered the little man. Although puzzled by this answer, the farmer, desperate for help, Hired him. The little man worked well around the farm, busy from dawn to dusk, and the farmer felt satisfied with the man's work.

Then one night the wind howled loudly in from offshore. Jumping out of bed, the farmer grabbed a lantern and rushed next door to the hired hand's sleeping quarters. He shook the little man and yelled, "Get up! A storm is coming! Tie things down before they blow away!" The little man rolled over in bed and said firmly, "No sir. I told you, I can sleep when the wind blows."

Enraged by the response, the farmer was tempted to fire him on the spot. Instead, he hurried outside to prepare for the storm. To his amazement, he discovered that all of the haystacks had
been covered with tarpaulins. The cows were in the barn, the chickens were in the coops, and the doors were barred. The shutters were tightly secured. Everything was tied down.

Nothing could blow away. The farmer then understood what his hired hand meant, so he returned to his bed to also sleep while the wind blew.

First Love

By: John Clare

I ne'er was struck before that hour
With love so sudden and so sweet.
Her face it bloomed like a sweet flower
And stole my heart away complete.

My face turned pale, a deadly pale.
My legs refused to walk away,
And when she looked what could I ail
My life and all seemed turned to clay.

And then my blood rushed to my face
And took my eyesight quite away.
The trees and bushes round the place
Seemed midnight at noonday.

I could not see a single thing,
Words from my eyes did start.
They spoke as chords do from the string,
And blood burnt round my heart.

Are flowers the winter's choice
Is love's bed always snow
She seemed to hear my silent voice
Not love appeals to know.

I never saw so sweet a face
As that I stood before.
My heart has left its dwelling place
And can return no more.

Do Not Love Me Yet

Do not love me yet, for I
Am still a slender moon,
A scimitar about the heart
Too sharp to touch too soon.

Before I'm touched I need to grow
More full in golden light;
I need to smile upon my earth
And rule some patch of night.

I need to know what roads and fields
Lie in my domain
And dull my brand new ecstasies
With sophomoric pain.

I need the love of some blank boy
As cold and dark as me,
That we might grope in ignorance
And fear of what might be.

And then when I'm a silver bowl
And know what I can hold,
Then, then, perhaps, we could try love
If you are not too old.
